This year saw the defending champions, the Hurricanes, take on the Punishers in a nail biting day which yet again came down to the very last event.
After 8 events both teams had won 4 each and the scores were tied at 32 points a piece. With 8 points available in the darts this was a winner takes all situation.
The Punishers won the toss, elected to bat first and proceeded to score a very decent 490 runs. The Hurricanes needed to score heavily to stand a chance... and they did. With 463 runs on the board and only 1 batsman left to score the 28 runs they needed, the pressure was back on Punisher Paul to get the last remaining wicket before Hurricane John could snatch the victory. Everyone was tense.
With his third, and what would surely have been the final dart of the Punishers campaign, Paul hit the leg side stump to triumphant cheers of the Punishers and dejected sighs of the remaining Hurricanes. Punishers were triumphant.
Final scores: Hurricanes 32, Punishers 40.
Judgement Day champions: The Punishers
The Punishers get hold of the JD trophy for the first time as the remaining Hurricanes, John and Tim, look on in disgust.
